Post American Secession Project

The charter of the American Secession Project is simple. We desire to place the concept of secession in the mainstream of political thought. Our intent is to proclaim that secession is a viable and legal right and a practical solution to contemporary problems. Secondly, we desire to build a coalition of groups seeking autonomy and independence within the current United States. Mutual support for the concept of self-determination and secession will eventually benefit all groups seeking freedom.

Some of my kinfolk and a lot of other like-minded people tried that about 150 years ago, just down the road from you.

Didn't work out very well.

Some people still ain't got over it, either.

"Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable, a most sacred right – a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people, that can, may revolutionize, and make their own of so much of the territory as they inhabit." – Abraham Lincoln, (speech in Congress January 1848)

Uh...yeah succession. The heck with unity and learning to get along with folks we don't particularly care for. Here's a little something that's been going around: Blue State Succession.

Dear Red States:
We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other
Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes
California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin,
Michigan, Illinois and all of the Northeast. We believe this split
will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the
new country of Nuevo California.

To sum up briefly:

You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell
research and the best beaches. We get the Statue of Liberty. You get
Dollywood.

We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom.
We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss.
We get 85% of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama.
We get two-thirds of the tax revenue, you get to make the red states
pay their fair share.

Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22% lower than the Christian
Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families. You get a bunch of
single moms.

Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war,
and we're going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once. If
you need people to fight, ask your Evangelicals.

With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of:
- 80% of the country's fresh water,
- 92% of the nation's fresh fruit
- 95% of America's quality wines
- 90% of all cheese
- 90% of the high tech industry
- 95% of the corn and soybeans (thanks Iowa!)
- most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and
condors
- all of the Ivy League and Seven Sister schools, plus Stanford, Cal
Tech and MIT.

With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to cope with:
- 88% of all obese Americans (and their projected health care costs)
- 92% of all U.S. mosquitoes
- over 90% of all tornadoes and hurricanes
- 99% of all Southern Baptists and Televangelists

Did you know? 38% of those in your Red states believe Jonah was
actually swallowed by a whale, 62% believe life is sacred UNLESS we're
discussing the war, the death penalty or gun laws, 44% say that
evolution is only a theory, 53% think that Saddam was involved in 9/11
and 61% of you crazy bastards believe you are the people with higher
morals then us blue state "lefties."

Peace out,
--Blue States

From what I've read and this is JMO the secessionists don't have a us against them mentality. It's "us against the existing form of government" and so many don't see any way to break the stranglehold of special interests and career politicians.

Default Red vs Blue ?

Wow , Let's not get caught up in Republican or Democrat ! We are a very diverse and mixed group that is seeking after the Original Constitutional Government this country once held near and dear ! That requires kindly educating our friends family and neighbors that are still blindly ignorant of what our own "elected to serve" are doing to us. Because when and if there comes a time that men will again take up arms against their government -we are going to need Red , Blue, Green , Constitution, Libertarian, etc. In other words Americans. I'm not attacking here - just asking that one might step back a moment and consider that what I have said just might make more sense- I have friends on every side of the political spectrum that want Our America back !! Oh yeah and God Bless ( I just happen to be one of those evangelicals )

Default Ya have my attention.

I have been at this some time now and THAT thought is one that keeps coming back 'round. I don't want to divide up the nation in the sense of 'south' or 'north', 'red or blue' what not. divide the states up into hey whats that? A state? Yeah something like that. the pieces are already in place and the Machine has all of the parts it needs, We just need to pull that ol'burned out turbo and the other junk that is meddling with a smooth running machine out of the way. Like the ATF, or the DEA, or the DSA(how did that get under the hood?) Our Government is way over crowded. Take the ATF for example. didn't the ammendment that needed that particular agency get repealed. Oh yeah thats right Elliot Ness raised a stink that his men would be needed for things in the near future so they just gave it a new name and shifted its direction to other things; like Firearms that were still legal to own then. The other thing that we need to ditch is that stinking Credit company that is asking for WAY too much interest. You know the one that says its out to help us: the Federal Reserve? The one the has as much to do with the Federal government as FedEx does.( I like to think of them as the Carloni Brothers. They have similar scruples)

We just need a tune up, lose some excess weight, and relearn how to manage our money and get out and re-learn how to make an keep friends. (wow sounds like me after my divorce) I think that we need to pull our security defenses back some too. (I am very much a Ron Paul fan if you hadn't figured that out yet)

I am talking, teaching and wearing my finances into a hole trying to make a difference. On November 1st I went and exercised my 2nd ammendment right to keep and bear arms. This is the first handgun I have had that wasn't issued to me. I did it through all of the legal routes and have no regrets about it. I purchase one box of ammo with each paycheck and store it an ammo can that I bought at a flea market.(about full time to get another.) I will defend that law with my life if need be. I will honor my oath that I swore in 88 about uphold and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies foreign or domestic. (Sadly its looking like its gonna be of the domestic sort this time around.)

Here's a link to another site that has some really good sources of info. Keyed page is one that I find nearly too honest for comfort in some ways. Hope you enjoy.
