Gun sales have been booming ever since Barack Obama's appearance on the presidential campaign trail. Government officials charged with reviewing civilian applications for the purchase of firearms report there was a 50 percent increase in requests for reviews between November 2007 and November 2008.

Obama's record of supporting gun-control measures gave gun sales another boost after his election November 4th, and sales have continued to rise in the early days of his presidency.

and even further now in 2009 though the numbers are still out (it is only Febuary after all)
The biggest thing that almost never gets attention other than the occasional blurb is Ammunition.
If you are looking for a common size of ammo GOOD LUCK! Yes you can find it out here but for several months the supply was sporadic at best. Things seem to have stabilized some though it still gets lean now and again.

Key thing about a Gun sales too. Many of the people buying those guns have never(!) owned a gun before.

Maybe Obama needs to figure out why Gun sales are up, The states are enacting legislation to declare soveriegnty, and the switchboard in congress is lit up like a Christmas tree. You would think that these are all indicators of something going sour. Oh yeah, and everytime he gives a speech the dow falls a couple hundred points. Maybe he just needs to shut up and THINK instead of trying to become this omnipotent power that will drive this country under the bus.

Can't say that any of the other choices would be any good either but this 'Change' is not even an option in my book.

I completely agree that this nation needs some changes but SOCIALISM isn't it.

Politics will eventually lead to war when negotiations have broken down to the point where violence is the only option. We are still in the negotiating stages of this. Hopefully No-one will choose preemptive moves.(from either side)

Seeing the back peddling that Pelosi had to do for the Prez because of Holders tongue slip the other day; I believe that Barry realizes that if they make a move for our guns, negotiations would stall very quickly leading to violence FAST.
They are going to do everything that they can to turn this into a socialist government through the channels that they can use with the least amount of resistance from 'the chattering class'. When the piper starts playing the tune of Rationing due to hyperinflation, we will all be ripe for picking. If we aren't inundated with scattered rioting before that I will be VERY surprised. Watch the chess moves of the Marxists, of Hitler: you will see very similar(nearly trademark) actions taking place while the people 'wanted' help. Read 'Animal farm' and you will see the failure of our times and some prognosticating of whats to come IF we don't prune this weed the way it needed to be done in the 60's when people started crying Democracy.
I could go on about how republics are doomed by their very nature same as democracies are(there are reasons oligarchies are so heavily listed in history)
