Just rub it in. The soonest gun show that I can attend is in August. We have several around now but nothing close enough that I can enjoy it without getting a hotel room for an overnight.

Thats ok. I only need to get more ammo.(maybe a vest but that would make me a 'potential felon' in the DHS's eyes. )

Bulletproof me! I haven't a problem buying one but I am quite picky about what to buy after seeing what we did to a flak jacket while in the Corp. It stopped a .22 but that was about it. Man that .50 did something that made all of us flinch like we had been kicked in the groin.

Yeah, I guess so! If you find one that stops a .50, let me know. I want one! Of course I wouldn't be very mobile in it. Just sit there on the ground with it drapped over me. You wouldn't have to shoot me. You could just stone me to death. Unless, of course, I put on a football helmet.

lol Tactics does a lot more to keep you 'in cover' than armor does. Armor is only a defense that increases chances of survivability.

When facing zombies, ALWAYS go for the Head. Body shots will only slow em down not stop em.

yuppers. if your front sight covers the target they are at the range you want to go for the torso. I know my 91/59 front post covers an 8" target at 100yards. Even so I can keep it all in the black at that range. 200 yards upgrades me to 14" and thats still in the kill zone. Pretty much anything over that I would want a scope for. Looking at setting the Mosey up with one for those "long distance calls". I have found that the SKS tends to the same results though I won't scope that one since anything over 250yards is a waste of time(and ammo) with that rifle. great combat rifle but no sniper rifle by anymeans.

They can be great rifles with very little work. I did all of my own smithing on Gloria and am holding a 3" group at 100y with iron sites from the sitting position. The real downfall is the round itself. basiclly a .308 bullet with the push of a .223 case. Hits hard out to a point than falls on its face. I like the Mosey for the long shot since its pretty equal to the .308 Winchester round.

Watched?

Now since the Mosey is new enough that I haven't named her yet. Refinished the stock the other day and found an awesome looking Birch stock under all that cosmoline. Cleaned it up an used some peroxide to bleach the stains out and covered her in a satin finish. Thinking she is going to get the name blondie.

yes.

here are the results of last weeks range trip with the Mosey though. 5 prone and 5 offhand [IMG][/IMG] and if the image doesn't link up here is the blog site.

Default Get ready America

Lie:

In October 2008, a Gallup Poll demonstrated that 49 percent of Americans favored stricter gun control.
http://www.pressconnects.com/article/20090704/VIEWPOINTS03/907040304/1120/Support+gun-control+bills

Truth:
A new Rasmussen poll reveals that 57 percent of American citizens believe gun sales are up over the past several months because of widespread fears that the government will tighten restrictions on gun ownership.

"The poll results confirm what we've been saying," noted Alan Gottlieb, chairman of more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) "American citizens are fearful that the Obama administration and a Democrat-controlled Congress will pass new laws to further erode the </SPAN>individual right to own firearms. This concern was further enhanced by yesterday's ruling in Minnesota that far left anti-gunner Al Franken should be seated as a U.S. Senator representing that state, giving Democrats a 60-member majority."

The Rasmussen telephone survey found that only 23 percent of the respondents believe gun sales have risen due to concerns about rising crime. Twenty-one percent are not sure. The poll also revealed that 63 percent of male Americans and 51 percent of women believe gun sales are linked to concerns about new gun control schemes. Another finding is that 65 percent of Republicans and 66 percent of those not affiliated with either major political party think booming gun sales are connected to fears about increased government restrictions.

"Americans realize that despite all of the campaign rhetoric, Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are waiting for the right moment to spring new gun control measures," Gottlieb stated. "There is little doubt they would like to renew the ban on semiautomatic sport-utility rifles, place limits on the number of firearms someone may purchase, and maybe institute some kind of licensing and registration scheme, as Pelosi hinted during an appearance on ABC's Good Morning America. Wherever these measures have been tried on the local level, they have invariably failed to prevent or reduce violent crime. The Clinton gun ban failed. One-gun-a-month schemes have failed.

"How many times do you have to fail at something before you reach the inescapable conclusion that your plan isn't going to work?" he questioned. "The Rasmussen poll affirms that Americans are waking up to the Obama-Pelosi agenda, and they are stocking up for what they think is an inevitable attack on gun rights."

Default Even this isn't humor in Texas

But it's a hell of a lot better than Hussein's ideas...

« Classic Cocktail Happy Hour at Annie's on Congress |
Texans for Gun Control--Order Today

Just saying you're a Texan FOR gun control is likely to get you shot in Texas, or at least barred from running for political office, even if you mean it sarcastically. Far from venturing into the political wasteland of the firearms gun control debate, what we're promoting is the SODA GUN ban, which certain of us think should be enacted immediately. No more juices or sodas extracted from a bag-in-a-box in a faraway storeroom or basement. What we're advocating is the revolutionary concept of fresh-squeezed juices and natural mixers--just like our boozehound distant ancestors drank. Farm to table? That was my grandma's style. Garden-to-glass? Fill 'er up!

The Austin chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild is proud to offer, in no official USBG-related capacity, the 2009 Tales of the Cocktail Texas Expedition T-Shirt featuring this year's motto: Texans For Gun Control, featuring the Wünder Bar soda gun surrounded by the universal symbol for NO. Please contact me at Tex (at sign) this url if you would like to pre-order your shirt or send me some hateful legal mail because I've violated your trademark or offended your sensibilities.
